MEGAT SULONG / LIAM O’DOHERTY

Megat Sulong / Liam O’Doherty: after a tragic incident at the farm, a Malay couple had raised since he was four years old.


NIALL GALLAGHER / NIALL O’DOHERTY
Portrayed by Jack Reynor
Niall Gallagher / Niall O’Doherty: he was Lachlan's twin brother and they have been separated since they were four years old.   However they are not aware of this.  He is a policeman.

DEMANG SULONG
Portrayed by Aeril Zafrel
Demang Sulong: the only son of the Sulong family. He had dark hair and brown eyes.  Unlike Megat, he tend to be calmer and he does not rush his actions.
 
KILLIAN O’DOHERTY
Portrayed by Michael Fassbender
 Killian O’Doherty: A redheaded man who was the son of ex-convicts.  He owns a farm, and he is the birth father to Lachlan and Niall.

ASHLING O’DOHERTY
Portrayed by Morven Christie
Ashling O’Doherty: an ex-convict and Killian's wife. They both worked together in their farm.  She is the birth mother to identical twin brothers, Lachlan and Niall.

SULONG AWANG 
Portrayed by Stephen Rahman-Hughes
Sulong Awang / Pak Sulong: he is the birth father of Demang and foster father of Megat.  He is English-educated and he is well-educated, as seen with this house tutoring his two sons.  He and his wife both lived with the small Malay community in their "Malay Quarter".

DELIMA DANANG
Portrayed by Sofia Jane
Delima Sulong / Mak Delima: she is the birth mother of Demang and foster mother of Megat.  Like her husband, she is also well-educated.

SUPERINTENDENT CIARAN GALLAGHER
Portrayed by Alex O'Loughlin
Superintendent Ciaran Gallagher: a Superintendent who fights for justice and raised Niall as his own son, training him to be a fighter.

SIR ALFRED HOLLOWAY
Portrayed by Jim Broadbent
 Sir Alfred Holloway: he is Darren and Eleanor Hastings' father.  He becomes the new mayor of Sydney after the mysterious death of the old mayor, Sir Arthur Hastings.  He is a very influential man in Sydney.

DARREN HOLLOWAY
Portrayed by Tom Mison

Darren Holloway: he was Jane's slightly older brother and he was the son of Sir James Holloway, an influential Sydney mayor. He was a straightforward person, but sometimes able to find answers by reading between the lines.


KEITH BELL
Portrayed by Johnny Depp
Keith: he was Daniel's best friend and they've known each other since their childhood. He lived with his wealthy brothers, who worked with Daniel's father.

ELEANOR HOLLOWAY
Portrayed by Sophie Lowe
Eleanor Holloway: a beautiful young English lady who was an intellectual.  She loves reading.  She teaches the underprivileged children regardless of race to read and write.  In her spare time she loves to play the piano and read.


LADY HEATHER HASTINGS

Lady Heather Hastings: the wife of the late Sir Arthur Hastings, who cared about the welfare of her people and since that she herself was an intellect, she conducted classes to give a chance for children and illiterate to have better education.

CHEUNG FEI-HONG
Portrayed by Chow Yun-fat
Fei-Hong: a Chinese market gardener and a friend of the Sulongs.  He works with his wife, son and daughter.

CHEUNG MEI-LING
Portrayed by Michelle Yeoh
 Mei-Ling: is Fei-Hong's wife and Moon Yee's mother.

CHEUNG MOON YEE
Portrayed by Katie Leung
 Moon Yee: is the only daughter of Mei-Ling and Chow Yoon.

KENCANA / TOK KENCANA
Portrayed by M. Nasir
Kencana: the father of Melor and Awang, and he opens a restaurant and lodging.  He also happens to be a martial arts master.  He is the leader of the small Malay community in New South Wales.  He is one of the escaped slaves from Cocos Islands who was mistreated by his European masters, and together, these band of free slaves resettled in New South Wales.

MELATI

Melati: wife of Kencana and mother of Awang and Melor.  She escaped Queensland and settled in New South Wales after she was mistreated by her European sugar plantation master.  She died when her children were still very young.

AWANG KENCANA
Portrayed by Remy Ishak
Awang: the oldest son of Kencana and big brother of Melor.


MELOR KENCANA
Portrayed by Natasha Hudson
Melor Kencana: the daughter of a recently arrived Malay immigrant, Kencana, and they are both next door neighbours to the Sulongs.  She was a quick learner and had many hidden talents.

Angus McDougall
Portrayed by Jamie Bell
Angus: a good friend of Demang and Megat.  They were often seen playing sports together - sepak takraw (traditional Malay sports) and soccer.
 
Tjandamurra
Portrayed by Trevor Jamieson
Tjandamurra
is Jedda's father.  He is the chief of his Aboriginal tribe near Malmesbury.



Jedda
Portrayed by Deborah Mailman
Jedda
is Tjandamurra's daughter.   Despite detesting many Europeans for stealing their land and killing some of their people (similar to the Myall Creek Massacre incident), her Aboriginal tribe gets along with the O'Dohertys and the Malay community.
 
21th century

Christopher "Chris" Sulongson
Potrayed by Jack Reynor
Chris is the story teller.  He is Liam's descendant.
